Dive into the World of Digraph Sounds via Games
It can be challenging to teach PH digraphs to kids, particularly after they have mastered the rules for sounding out basic CVC words. The fact that each letter does not have a sound can be very perplexing for young kindergartners.
Online interactive games with creative attributes is the most engaging way to help kids focus on digraph phonics. It also increases their focusing capacity and that too for a longer duration.
You can introduce PH digraph words through pictures and charts. Segregate the letters from the words by highlighting them. Examine the children's interpretation of newly learned digraphs and teach them according to their learning pace.
Instruct children to read the words on their own. Ask them to identify and highlight digraph letters. Alternatively, read a short sentence and have the children lift their hands whenever the digraph PH is mentioned.
Be your Kids' Support System in their Learning Journey
Create plenty of opportunities for kids of any grade to spell digraph words on their own. Familiarity and practice of PH digraph are the two essential points to ace the concept. Kindergarteners need to understand these digraphs so that they can read new words fluently.
Kids quickly get bored while studying, especially words and language skills. Using learning-based games can prove to be a great table-turner. SplashLearn is an educational platform offering many phonetics-based digraph PH Games for kindergarteners.
