Q Learning in Kindergarteners

Apart from being an uncommon letter, Q can also be quite confusing. It is similar in form to many other letters and has a more complex phonic sound than the rest. It is best to wait until your kindergartener has picked up on the other letter names and sounds until you bring Q in.

Quick Fixes for Q Learning

Q is a simple letter to identify and write. It has a simple form that makes it easy to distinguish. Give your child plenty of practice with the letter Q by playing sorting games that encourage them to pick up the right letter from among the rest. Do pay close attention; you may notice your child confuse Q and O letters because of their similar form.
