The main objective of this lesson is to introduce students to the concept of place value and help them develop a strong understanding of counting in groups of 10, making tens using unit blocks, and comparing quantities of tens and ones.

Task 2 helps students understand place value by demonstrating how rods are formed using unit blocks. By visually seeing that one rod is made up of ten unit blocks, students can grasp the concept that ten ones make one ten.

In Task 4, students practice comparing quantities of tens and ones to determine which is greater or smaller. This activity helps reinforce their understanding of place value by applying it to real-world scenarios.
