The objectives of this lesson are for students to learn how to express one-dollar bills using different coins, make change using smaller bills, and find the fewest coins/bills needed to make a given amount.
Students will develop skills in counting money, skip counting, exchanging bills for smaller denominations, and finding combinations that require the fewest number of coins/bills.
Students will be able to apply their learning in real-life situations such as making purchases and giving/receiving change. They will have a better understanding of how different denominations can be used interchangeably to represent the same value.
