The Magic of Shape Composition - Lesson Plan

In this lesson, students will warm up by recalling different 2-D and 3-D shapes. They will then learn how basic shapes can be used to create bigger shapes through a fun activity called 'Hide the Shapes.' Finally, students will apply their knowledge of shape composition to reconstruct objects in 'The Witch's Curse' activity. The lesson concludes with an exit slip to assess students' understanding.

The objective of this lesson is to introduce students to the concept of shape composition and help them understand how basic shapes can be combined to create larger structures.

Task 2, 'Hide the Shapes,' allows students to visually understand how smaller shapes can be used to form larger shapes. This activity helps develop spatial reasoning skills and reinforces the concept of shape composition.

The exit slip serves as a formative assessment tool to gauge students' understanding of shape composition and their ability to apply it in different contexts. It provides valuable feedback for both teachers and students.
